Tips
The first time you are
about to use the Qi-mat™ put it on a soft place, for example your bed
or a sofa. Then lay down carefully on your back.
As you are
getting used to the Qi-mat™, you may find it helpful to put a t-shirt
or a thin fabric over the mat. Place a cushion under your head to make
yourself more comfortable.
For the first few minutes you
may experience a burning sensation which will then turn into a
comfortable feeling as the circulation of the blood increases.
When
starting to use the Qi-mat™ we suggest you lie on it for around 10
minutes to see how your body reacts to the mat. When you feel
comfortable you can gradually increase the time you use the Qi-mat™
during the next two weeks until you reach approximately 20-45 minutes.
Should you fall asleep it’s fine to lie on it for longer.
Some
people use the mat everyday while others just a few times a week, it is
your choice. Pay attention to your body’s responses and adjust your
usage accordingly.
After using the Qi-mat™, you should
drink a glass of water in order to help the body recover. You should
also let your body get some rest after using the mat.
Let the Qi-mat™ become a part of your everyday life!
About the Mat
The size is75cm x 48cm x 2cm with a detachable foam mattress.
The covering is cotton
fabric. You will notice that our
Mat is larger than many other Mats on sale.
The Qi-mat™ contains 250 pieces of octagon shaped flowers. Each plastic
flower contains 32 spikes. That gives you 8000 acupressure points not
6000 like many other mats. These spiked flowers are placed in a
geometric pattern that stimulates the body’s acupressure points and,
according to Chinese folklore, increases the flow of Qi.
The figure 8, as in the mat’s 8000 spikes and the spiked octagon shaped
flowers is a number of luck for Chinese people. It stands for luck,
prosperity and economic success.
The beautiful symbol on the back of the mat is called Shou and
symbolises long life.
Cleaning Instructions
If
needed the Qi mat can be hand washed in luke warm water and hung to
dry. Avoid washing machine and dryer as the plastic spikes can be
damaged.

Qi, which is pronounced chi, is a concept from Chinese
folklore
where it is seen as a form of energy. Sometimes Qi is translated to”
life energy”. According to this folklore Qi circulates in and outside
people’s body and moves itself forward in so called meridians which are
considered to be ”roads” in the body.
Qi is a central concept in Chinese medicine, Qigong,
acupuncture and acupressure.
The
Chinese sign for Qi symbolises rice and steam. The boiling rice is
Asia’s best known symbol for life. Rice cannot be eaten without first
being boiled. When it has been given energy, it can give out energy,
which is the same as Qi.
Qi must always flow, Qi is in permanent change, like life, Qi
is the condition for life.
